181 Telecommunications Law and Regulation
(3:3:0). Federal regulation of the telecommunications industry
including broadcasting, cable, common carrier,
commercial and private mobile radio, satellite, and broadband
wireless. The course includes a study of the major legal and
technical issues involved in organizing, financing,
maintaining, and regulating the U.S. telecommunications industries.
The balance between public need and private enterprise is
addressed, and the course includes questions about first
amendment and copyright issues related to the airwaves
and cyberspace.
