Resources and Services for Employees with Disabilities

Office of Equity and Diversity Services

George Mason University is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. George Mason University provides reasonable accommodations to qualified job applicants and employees with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The ADA Coordinator in the Office of Equity and Diversity Services is responsible for facilitating reasonable accommodations for employees and applicants. The Assistive Technology Initiative (ATI)

The Assistive Technology Initiative (ATI) is a joint project with the Office of Disability Services (ODS), the Office of Equity and Diversity, and the Kellar Institute for Human Disabilities. It is designed to provide access to assistive technology consultations, training and equipment/software to all students and employees with disabilities.

 

Creation of Accessible Text Project (CAT)

The ATI also provides conversion of hard copy text (textbooks, class handouts, etc.) into an accessible electronic format for students and employees with print disabilities.

 

Emergency Evacuation and Communication
