Redesigned Mason License Plate Unveiled to Support University June 29, 2005 In coordination with University Relations, George Mason University's official Virginia license plate has been redesigned to reflect the university's new visual identity.
The plates are available for purchase through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and benefit the university. The annual plate fee is $25 and $15 of that fee is given to support the university. Alumni Association President Cathy Lemmon, BA '86, MA '93, was pleased to see that the university's new visual identity is represented on state plates. "The new plate will allow alumni and friends of George Mason to show their support and pride of the university," Lemmon said. The new Mason plate can be purchased online on the Virginia DMV's web site. Personalized plates are also available, which allow drivers to create a personal message of up to 6 letters or numbers.
