If a student takes noncore, upper-level business courses before acceptance to the School of Management, those courses will not count on an undergraduate degree applica-tion for any major in the school, except as general elective credit. A grade of C or higher must be presented on the graduation application for each upper-level course in the major. Course prerequisites are strictly enforced. -Degree status is defined as formal admission to SOM.

302 Legal Environment of Business (3:3:0) Prerequisite: sophomore standing. Exposure to general legal environment of business, with emphasis on the government regulatory process, business ethics, and social responsibility. Regulatory topics include torts and crimes, product liability, intellectual property and cyberlaw, contracts, and issues related to employment, competition, and investor protection. Lecture, discussion, cases.

402 Commercial Law (3:3:0) Prerequisites: BULE 302; degree status. Survey of commercial law. Emphasizes -contracts; commercial paper; secured transactions; debtor-creditor rights; business organizations; federal securities regulation; and accountantÕs legal -responsibilities. Lecture, discussion, cases.
