Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics

About the Center

The Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics is located in metropolitan Washington, D.C., the Center engages a full range of experts and public stakeholders to address today’s national and international issues in health care. It provides open forums to educate the public about the impact of policy on health care services, and it works to communicate the latest in research knowledge to health care policymakers. The Center provides exposure to research, healthcare ethics, and public policy work for students and professionals, many as they prepare for advanced degrees in health management, law, public policy, information technology, medicine, nursing, and other health care professions.

Mission Statement

The Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics (CHPRE) works to advance and disseminate knowledge about current topics and developments in public health policy and the health care system, and the ethical issues that emerge in the life sciences, health care, health policy, and clinical research.

CHPRE’s current research and scholarship priorities address issues in aging, chronic illness, long-term care, the health workforce, health inequalities, and responsible conduct of research.  CHPRE also engages key government policy makers and stakeholders to examine forces affecting the health system and to justify and support health care services that work.
