Welcome!

The Center for Global Korea at George Mason University provides unique services to both the George Mason community and the Korean American community in the Washington D.C. area by providing opportunities to learn Korean traditions including language, history, culture, and related topics. Since George Mason University is located in close proximity to the nation’s capital and in Northern Virginia where a large Korean American community is growing rapidly, the Center for Global Korea plays a unique role in enhancing the relationship between Korea and the U.S. The Center also initiates and explores various projects in globalizing Korean cultural tradition, artistic heritage, and spiritual orientation in light of other forms of culture, religion, and values in the world.

The Center sponsors scholarly conferences, workshops, symposia, and lecture to address matters concerning Korea and related issues to students and faculty and the broader community. In addition to research and curricular innovation, the Center also supports cultural and artistic events or related activities.
