The George Mason University Center for the Study of Genomic Liver Diseases uses the advances in microarray technology and the human genome map to determine the genomic basis of diseases of the liver. The Center's partnership with INOVA Health System's Center for Liver Disease--located in Fairfax Hospital--allows biomedical researchers to investigate the genomic differences between healthy and diseased liver cells.

Research for the Center for the Study of Genomic Liver Diseases is conducted in the Microarray Facility located on George Mason University's Prince William Campus in Manassas, Virginia. The facility is housed in the Prince William Phase II building and is centered in state-of-the-art research laboratories equipped with DNA sequencers, microarray printers, real-time PCR and fluorescent microarray scanners.

Liver cells are grown and maintained in the Cell Culture Laboratory which is also locate in Phase II of the George Mason University Prince William Campus. The Cell Culture Lab operates with numerous biosafety cabinets, incubators and ultralow temperature freezers as well as fluorescent and scanning electron microscopes.
