Center for Study of Public Choice

 Janet Byrd

February 23, 1951 - April 21, 2006

Janet Marie Byrd, daughter of Edward and Amelia Williams, was born on February 23, 1951 in Pensacola, Florida.

Raised in San Diego, California, Janet moved to Virginia in 1981. Janet joined Christ Fellowship Baptist Church in Herndon where she was baptized and dedicated her life to Christ.

From 1991 to 2005, Janet provided loyal support to the center and was instrumental in the daily operations and management of Carow Hall. She was the first line of support for the resident faculty at the center and for their students and the main Economics department.

She also acted as coordinator for the center's programs and events. She worked closely with JoAnn Burgess in coordinating arrangements regarding all of the international visitors, as well as events that were shared between the Public Choice center's Carow Hall and Buchanan House.

Janet was a gracious host to all visitors who came to the center. She also took charge of office assignments and other duties and the seminar lectures.

On Friday, April 21, 2006 at 10:30PM, Janet was called home to her eternal resting place.

Janet leaves behind her daughter, Miesha Mason of Marietta, Georgia; her son, Anthony Fulton of Hagerstown, Maryland; her mother, Amelia Williams of Phoenix, Arizona along with host of other relatives.

In the spirit world, Janet joins her father, Edward Williams, her sister, Regina Wilson and other family and friends.
