Greetings, and welcome to the active, diverse, and exciting world of George Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts. This is a community of artists, actively engaged in the learning, teaching, practice, and development of a wide variety of art forms.
Here you will find painters and computer animators, actors and dancers, singers and saxophonists, composers and playwrights, critics, arts managers, and scholars working in close proximity to each other in an atmosphere of collaborative exploration. You will find dedicated teachers and passionate students hard at work on individual journeys of growth and development. You will find a world-class artist series, Great Performances at Mason, which brings the best performers from around the block and around the world to our stages, free of charge to Mason students; an award-winning resident professional theater, which makes great new drama available to our community (also free to students!); and, above all, exciting student performances in all shapes and guises, from modern dance to opera, to multimedia.
I invite you to visit us, meet the faculty, attend a performance or exhibition, and discover the many layers of activity housed in the College. If anything you find here stimulates an interest or a question, please don't hesitate to be in touch with us!
