The
Northern Virginia Mediation Service
Founded by ICAR
faculty and alumni in 1988, NVMS has grown into a regional community-based
mediation program serving five jurisdictions in Northern Virginia: Fairfax,
Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William Counties and the Cities of Alexandria
and Falls Church. Providing outstanding training, Virginia Court mediation
certification, case assessment, and mediation service, NVMS serves hundreds
of people every year; helping them resolve their conflicts and learn
how to manage future differences. Contact: Rob Scott, Voice: 703.993.3656,

The
University Dispute Resolution Project
The University
Dispute Resolution Project (UDRP) is a student-run center that helps
members of the George Mason University community deal with interpersonal
and organizational conflict.
UDRP members provide
assistance and support to those seeking a non-adversarial way of overcoming
differences and disagreements. As part of its mission, UDRP offers mediation
and facilitation services and training and can provide speakers and
trainers to groups interested in developing conflict resolution skills.
UDRP is a volunteer organization relying on the hard work and enthusiasm
of many students, both graduate and undergraduate. Any member of the
GMU community may become a member or make use of UDRP services. UDRP
is committed to the principle that a diversity of perspectives is essential
to understanding and bridging personal, cultural, social, and ethnic
differences and endeavors to embody that principle in every aspect of
the organization. Contact: Lindsey Godwin, UDRP Director, Voice: 703.993.2887;
