Speaker Biographies: Dmitry Shlapentokh

He was born in Ukraine (Former USSR) BA (diploma in History) from Moscow State University (1973). He emigrated to the USA in 1979. He holds an MA in history from Michigan State University , E. Lansing (1981). PhD University of Chicago (1988). He has held Research and Teaching positions in various universities/research centers, including Harvard and Hoover . His main research interests: Russian/European intellectual and social history. Author of the several books and almost hundred of the articles. Presently associate Professor of Russian/European History in the Indiana University , South Bend .
