Metro Information to ICAR:

ICAR is served by two metro stop locations:

Clarendon Metro Stop: Exit the metro and turn left, you will be facing Wilson Blvd., with a park on your left and businesses on your right.

Go left on Wilson about two blocks until you reach the large intersection of Wilson Blvd., Clarendon Blvd and Washington Blvd. Turn right onto Washington Blvd. There will be a modern furniture shop, an Irish pub called Molly Malone’s and a Moroccan restaurant on your right, and a pet grooming shop on your left as you head west on Washington Blvd..

Walk to light at the intersection of Kirkwood and Washington. The black glass building on the corner, outlined in red, is the Truland Bldg. Enter the building from the Washington St. side.

Virginia Square Metro Stop: Take the Orange Line to the Virginia Square/GMU station. Take the escalator to the street level, and turn to face Fairfax Drive. Across the street and to the right, you will see the FDIC building. The Arlington Campus is next door. Turn right and walk to the intersection of N. Fairfax and Kirkwood. The GMU Law School is on this corner, a white concrete building on the left side of the street. Continue on Kirkwood past the Law School. The Truland Building is ahead on the left. Go into the parking lot to reach the main entrance.

There is no visitor parking on the Arlington Campus. Only holders of valid Arlington Campus parking permits are allowed to park a vehicle on the campus. Individuals who wish to park on the campus without a permit must contact the Arlington Campus Operations Office at (703) 993-8140 to make special parking arrangements. Or contact the Arlington Campus Parking Services at (703) 993-8146. Or for ICAR Events related special parking information, contact Erin Ogilvie at (703) 993-1300.

At the Truland Building, visitors can park in the upper parking deck (off of Kirkwood) in the GMU Reserved marked spaces. However, there is an honor box located when you enter the building where you would put a small amount of money ($1 per hour, $5 day) in the box while you are visiting the ICAR offices. In the future, these will be changed to metered spots for visitors.

There are 80 metered parking spaces at the N. Fairfax Drive cul-de-sac on the corner of N. Fairfax Drive and Kirkwood Road.

There is free street parking located off of Kirkwood as well. If you drive past the Sport and Health Club (would be on your left) on Kirkwood, you will eventually find free street parking close by.

There is a parking garage shared by the FDIC and the Foundation Building. You can access this from Washington Blvd, located in between the Foundation Building and the FDIC. This is a pay parking garage ($2/hour).
