Visiting Assistant Professor Position Open

The Department of Statistics http://statistics.gmu.edu, George Mason University (GMU), Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position for the 2008-2009 academic year.  The candidate should have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics, and a dedication to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Special consideration will be given to candidates with a well-documented research plan, which may result in release time to conduct independent and collaborative research.  Research interests of the department include biostatistics, biometric identification, data mining and visualization, statistical signal processing, and statistical computing.  GMU is a lovely, wooded campus in the high-tech corridor of Northern Virginia, 25 minutes from downtown Washington, D.
