This program allows students to earn two M.S. degrees by completing 48 credits of coursework instead of the 60 that would be required if the degrees are sought independently. Once the requirements for the dual-degree program are met, the student is awarded an M.S. degree in Mathematics and an M.S. degree in Statistical Science. If the student does not complete the requirements for dual degrees, a single M.S. degree can still be awarded if all the requirements for that degree are met.
Admission Requirements: Applicants must satisfy admission requirements for both the M.S. in Mathematics program and the M.S. in Statistical Science program. Two applications need to be submitted: one for the M.S. in Mathematics and one for the M.S. in Statistical Science. Then the Volgenau School Admissions Office should be e-mailed at itegadm@gmu.edu to indicate that admission to the dual degree program is sought. Students already admitted to one of the M.S. programs need to submit an application to the other program to be considered for the dual degree program. Please see the instructions for each separate degree program to determine admission and program requirements.
