This is a joint certificate program with the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), and prepares participants to apply statistical methods to quantitative design and analysis of health care issues and biomedical studies. It is taught jointly by faculty of the Department and CHHS. The certificate requires 15 credits and has a calculus-based track and a non-calculus-based track. Students must hold a bachelor's degree in a discipline related to health sciences or statistics with a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credits. Application can be made through the Department or through CHHS.

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree including two courses in calculus and a course in probability or statistics at the 300 level or higher. The minimal requirements would be MATH 113-114 and STAT 344, or equivalent.
