The George
Mason University Biosciences Doctoral Program is a
research-oriented field of study that prepares students for
significant contributions in an academic or industrial setting.
Areas of emphasis include microarray analysis of gene expression;
the sequencing and analysis of genes; gene family evolution;
mechanisms of toxicology and mutagenesis; and biotechnological

The Biosciences PhD Program is paired with the applied
research laboratories in the Center for Biomedical Genomics
and Informatics (CBMGI).
The CBMGI dedicated to discovering the functional genomic
basis of medical diseases. It provides hands-on training and
graduate research opportunities in state-of-the-art laboratories
equiped with the latest high-technology bioscience instrumentation
maintained by George Mason's Shared Research Instrumentation
