DESCRIPTION

UAI has been established for 50 years. Adolfo Ibanez University is a leader in the field of academic innovation with a successful educational model that will have a profound impact on future generations of Chilean students, due to the fact that it was designed to deal with the main characteristic of contemporary society - change.

It contains the number one business program in all of Chile , and is ranked as the top private University in the entire country. All courses are taught in Spanish, while some material is given in English. Undergraduate students are allowed their choice of one of two campuses: Vina del Mar or Santiago.

CREDITS

You can take courses in many areas of study at either campus at UAI. Students who have advanced language skills and are business majors are encouraged to take advantage of the number one business faculty in the country. Click here for a listing of courses.

Housing

UAI will help you find accommodation for the duration of your stay. One option consists of renting a room (single or double) with or without a meal plan. Prices vary from $160 to $370 per month.

Another alternative is to live with a host family.

UAI has a host committee that helps students make arrangements, their website is listed here. If you would like to pursue this housing option, please apply early with your Center for Global Education - Mason Abroad program officer.

 

ELIGIBILITY

This program is open to Mason students ONLY. Students must be at least a second semester sophomore at the time of departure and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Spanish language is required, students must have taken at least four semesters of college-level Spanish or be able to demonstrate proficiency from another source.

Financial aid may apply. Please check with the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible. You are responsible for making all timely payments to George Mason University, and the Center for Global Education.

Fee includes tuition and administrative fees, room, an International Student Identity Card, and a pre-departure orientation. The program cost does NOT include airfare, board, books, passport fees, housing security deposits, personal sightseeing, and pocket money.

If a student applies and is accepted into the direct exchange program and then drops out of the program, they are still responsible for paying the $300 administrative fee to CGE.
