Intensive Italian in Sicily

DESCRIPTION

This intensive Italian language program for intermediate or advanced students takes place at the Babilonia Italian Language School in the beautiful perched town of Taormina located in Sicily. Students will have the opportunity to live and eat with an Italian family and totally immerse themselves in the culture. All the Italian language classes will be held in the morning for four or five hours (20 hours/week). The weekends are set aside for field study trips to places of historic and cultural interest. The language program will be complemented by lectures and films on Italian history and culture.

CREDITS

3 undergraduate credits in ITAL 210, 250, 330, as well as FRLN 330. Students must have successfully completed beginning Italian.

Homestays with Italian families in Taormina, Sicily (breakfast & dinner included)

ELIGIBILITY

The program is open to George Mason University and non-Mason students, staff, faculty, and alumni, as well as to the general public. To obtain credit, you need at least a 2.25 GPA.
