An Introduction to basic facts and principles of chemistry, including atomic and molecular structure, gas laws, kinetics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, and the properties and uses of the more important elements and their compounds.
Registration in both lecture and laboratory sections must be confirmed by attendance at the beginning of the first meeting of both or by notification to the department prior to the first meeting. Failure to confirm a registration may result in loss of the reserved space. Chemistry 211-212 is a prerequisite to all undergraduate chemistry courses numbered 300 or higher.
NOTE: Students who enroll in a lecture section must also be enrolled in a corresponding lab section unless formally waived by the Chemistry Department.

Prereq: CHEM 211. Students must register for both a lecture and lab section. Written lab waivers must be submitted to the Registrar's Office if approved by the department.
