The Self-Help Resource Library is a service of CAPS

The Self-Help Resource Library provides a media library of personal growth and academic skills programs available to students, faculty, and staff at George Mason University. Media programs may be used in the Learning Services media lab during the hours the lab is open. Faculty and staff at Mason may check out programs overnight or over a weekend. Students may check out programs to use for classroom or group presentations. These programs are not for sale or rent or otherwise available to persons outside of the University. If the program is marked with an asterisk (*), ask the receptionist for the handout or written materials that accompany it.

Anger Control (60 min.)
Controlling your anger will guide you to make better decisions and into rational action. This tape helps you come to grips with your anger and gain control over it. (audio)

Anger Workout (90 min.*)
Learn effective, proven methods for arresting anger and for converting it into a creative and powerful source of energy. (audio)

Anger Management (self-paced*)
Our anger can create a lot of trouble for us when we don't know how to manage it properly. It can have a negative impact on our health and adversely affect our relationships with other people. Learn what causes anger and understand why our bodies react as they do when we're angry. Effective techniques for assuaging anger are discussed, and you'll understand that in the long run, issues that rile you are more likely to be resolved when you restructure your thinking and communicate calmly. Controlling Anger (30-45 min.*)
These 4 tapes examine the components of anger, discuss how anger affects your body and your mind, and focuses on what you can do to defuse anger's control over you. (audio)

Cage the Rage: Handling Your Anger (18 min,)
Anger is a destructive emotion that is permeating the fabric of contemporary society. This instructive program offers positive plans for managing frustration and resolving conflict without resorting to anger and violence while promoting an attitude of self-control and self-responsibility. (Video)

Dance of Anger: A Women's Guide To Changing the Patterns of Intimate Relationships (3 hr.*)
These two tapes are designed to help women move away from styles of managing anger that do not work in the long run. They provide the listener with the insight and practical skills to stop behaving in old predictable ways and begin to use anger to clarify a new position in significant relationships.
