Goal Setting


The Self-Development Center provides a media library of personal growth and academic skills programs available to students, faculty, and staff at George Mason University. Media programs may be used in the Self-Develoipment Center during the hours the Center is open. Faculty and staff at GMU may check out programs overnight or over a weekend. Students may check out programs to use for classroom or group presentations. These programs are not for sale or rent to persons outside of the University. If the program is marked with an asterisk (*), ask the receptionist for the handout or written materials that accompany it.

Motivation & Goal-Setting (60 min.*)
In this program you'll learn sound strategies to make your self-esteem soar. You'll find out just how confident you really are -- and how you can tackle tough situations without hesitation. (video)
Psychology of Achievement (20-45 min.*)
To be successful, you must understand how your past has influenced you and set realistic goals for the present and the future. This 6 tape series examines your self-concept, accepting responsibility for yourself, and achieving your goals for the future. (audio)
Setting and Achieving Goals (25 min*)
Gain more control over your life and your career. This program helps you to reach your goals by setting objectives, creating action plans and evaluating your progress. (video)
Personal Goals: Your Path to Success (30 min.)
This video uses an entertaining and informative format to present several methods for planning and achieving goals. (video)
