If you are concerned with any of these issues, a group can provide you with the support to deal with these or similar concerns. An appointment with the group facilitator is required before joining any group. To schedule an appointment, contact Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Union Building I (SUB I), room 364, 703-993-2380.
The following groups begin in Spring 2008. If you are interested in a group but cannot attend at the time listed, or if no time listed, please contact the group facilitator to discuss your interest. Group times are usually decided based on the schedules of interested students.

Support and Discussion Group
CAPS is now offering a support and discussion group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer students. The group is also open to those individuals who are questioning their sexual or gender identity, as well as those who choose not to label their sexual or gender identity, but fall somewhere on the continuum.
The group is facilitated by a trained counselor who aims to make it a safe space where Mason students can come together to connect with peers and receive support for personal issues related to their sexual and gender identities. Discussion topics are open and generated by the members in attendance, but potential issues include coming out to self and others, dating and relationships, homo-, bi-, and trans-phobia, and campus and workplace issues.
