Counseling and Psychological Services of George Mason University is very pleased to invite applications for two part-time, two-year internships starting July 1, 2008. The internships have a stipend of $10,200/year.
Our program was developed and inaugurated in 2007 using APA-guidelines, with the eventual goal of expanding and securing APA approval. Primary areas of training include individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, crisis assessment, crisis intervention, consultation and outreach, and supervision of trainees. George Mason University has a very diverse student population; therefore, a strong emphasis will be on the development of multicultural competence. Weekly seminars on a broad range of relevant topics are provided. Supervisors are board-certified or licensed psychologists with a range of theoretical orientations including cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic approaches. Two hours of individual and one hour of group supervision are provided. See the Training Manual for further details.
Applications should include the AAPI, curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a letter of interest. Applications must be received by November 30, 2007. We plan to participate in the APPIC match in 2008.
Applications should be sent to:
