Mason's Counseling and Pychological Services is now offering a support and discussion group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer students. The group is also open to those individuals who are questioning their sexual or gender identity, as well as those who choose not to label their sexual or gender identity, but fall somewhere on the continuum.

Dr. Adrienne Douglass, a trained counselor, is facilitating the group and aims to make it a safe space where Mason students can come together to connect with peers and receive support for personal issues related to their sexual and gender identities. The group is named for the facilitator’s belief that everyone has their own individual, developmental trajectory that is unique and based on a variety of factors, while recognizing that there are common issues that arise due to the social context in which we all live. Discussion topics are open and generated by the members in attendance, but potential issues include coming out to self and others, dating and relationships, homo-, bi-, and trans-phobia, and campus and workplace issues.

Trajectories meets every Wednesday in CAPS (SUB I, Room 364) from 1-2:30pm. You can just show up or you can email or call Adrienne for additional information at adougla5@gmu.edu or 703-993-2380.
