Colleen Neumann is a doctoral candidate at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She earned her BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2002, and her MSW from the same school in 2004. Colleen earned her MA in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in 2006. Colleen has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings serving clients with a variety of needs, and has experience in eating disorders, trauma, and serious mental illness, as well as short-term solution-focused counseling. She also worked for the Department of Student Activities and the Office of the Dean of Students while attending Stony Brook, and is thrilled to be back in a college setting.
Colleen takes an integrative approach to working with college students, drawing on cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and insight-oriented theories to guide her work. She strives to create a safe environment for self-exploration and expression, and is highly energized by her work with students. Her goal is to assist students in developing insight into their thought processes to allow them to grow and make healthy changes. Colleen’s areas of clinical interest include eating and body image concerns, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and diversity issues. In her spare time, Colleen enjoys cheering on local sports teams, including the Washington Nationals and the Mason basketball team. Go Patriots!
