Graduate Assistants

Masters-level students from Counseling and Development or related programs are employed as Graduate Assistants to provide support to educational and outreach programs in the Counseling and Psychological Services. Graduate Assistants provide workshops on a variety of topics and support Center activities such as the stress management program, university-wide outreach efforts, and the interpersonal and academic skill assessment programs.

Psychological
Services

The training program provides supervised experiences to graduate students from the Clinical Psychology and Counseling & Development programs to facilitate: the development and expansion of basic counseling and psychotherapeutic skills; promote insight regarding human development, behavior and motivation; greater awareness of ethical issues; and an increased sense of professional competence.

Counseling and Development
Higher Education

Practicum and intern trainees from the Counseling and Development Program and Higher Education programs obtain counseling experience under the individual supervision of professional staff members. In addition, they have opportunities to co-lead groups and participate in various educational and outreach activities. Through the training experience, students develop their clinical and consultative skills so that they can take on new professional roles.
