The Department’s annual concerts and choreographic showcases present the best in contemporary and experimental performance. The choreography is created by student, faculty, and guest artists, and often includes collaborations with composers, musicians and visual artists.

In addition to regular dance performances, GMU participates annually in the American College Dance Festival, which has led to performances at regional festivals, and national festivals at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Washington metropolitan area is home to many resident choreographers who offer regional performance opportunities to GMU students who audition for their work.
