Walter E. Williams, John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics,
holds a B.A. degree in economics from California State University
and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from UCLA. In addition
he holds a Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Virginia Union
University.
He has also
served on the faculties of Los Angeles City College, California
State University at Los Angeles, and Temple University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Williams is the author of over 160 publications which have appeared
in scholarly journals such as Economic Inquiry, American Economic
Review, and Social Science Quarterly and popular publications such
as Reader's Digest, Regulation, Policy Review, and Newsweek.
He has made
numerous radio and television appearances including Dr. Milton
Friedman's "Free to Choose," "Star Spangled Line," ABC "Nightwatch" and
Ted Turner's Cable New Network. His book, The State Against Blacks,
was published by McGraw-Hill in the winter of 1982 and was made
into a television documentary entitled, "Good Intentions." His
most recent book is "More Liberty Means Less Government".
