Students with Disabilities
The Disability Resource Center helps students with disabilities achieve their full potential during their academic career, and coordinates counseling, testing and accomodations with students. Please visit the Center as soon as possible if you want to receive accommodations in the classroom.

Accommodation in English 100/101 and English 302
All students who ask faculty to accommodate disabilities in an English composition class should present to their teachers, as soon as possible, the faculty contact sheet issued by the Disability Resource Center and spend a few minutes discussing how the accommodations might work in that particular class. The DRC office issues the contact sheet after meeting with the student to determine the accommodations for that individual.

The sheet will list the accommodations you will need to maximize participation in your English glass and fulfill all its requirements. During your classes you may encounter exercises that cause you unforeseen difficulties. Talk to your teacher as soon as possible if this happens, and ask the Disability Resource Center for suggestions and guidance.

Referral
If you want your English teacher to accommodate disabilities but you do not have a faculty contact sheet, your teacher will refer you to the Disability Resource Center. Your teacher can only accommodate your disability if you present a faculty contact sheet.

If you feel you may have a disability which may influence your college career (for example, your teachers have always said you 'must be dyslexic'), but you have never had the problem evaluated professionally, again visit the Disability Resource Center as soon as possible. Although the Center does not provide evaluation, its staff will refer students to the appropriate professionals. For further help, see the guidance pages of Disability Resource Center or contact the Center directly.

Counseling
The Counseling Center also provides on-going counseling and workshops on learning styles. It coordinates with the Disability Resource Center and advises students through counseling, self-development programs and workshops.
