Perhaps
you have heard the say "You can't get the right answer
unless you ask the right question." So you ask yourself:
What
do I already know about global warming?
I
know that it has something to do with the weather and holes in
the ozone layer. These holes
are supposed to be bad for some reason,
for example, the guys on the radio tell me that I have to use
a lot of sunscreen and I know the air quality around here gets
pretty
bad, especially in the summer. I think some people blame global
warming for the mild winters we have had in northern Virginia
and for the lack of rain.
What do I want to know about global warming?
I want to know if there really is such a thing as global warming
and why some people say yes and others say no. I want to know
who is saying yes and who no.
And
for starters, you come up with research questions:
1) What
is global warming?
2) What
causes global warming?
3) What
are the results of global warming?
4) What
are the arguments about global warming?
5) What
can we do about it?
Are
these researchable questions? To answer that, let's look
at how to determine keywords.
