Prerequisites: permission of Instructor. Open only to undergraduates who have taken 6 credits of LING course work.

Intensive study of a particular theoretical problem in linguistics, to be conducted by an individual student in close consultation with an instructor. Student produces a substantial piece of written work during the semester on the findings of his or her research. With instructor permission, the course may be taken twice, for a total of 6 credits.
