First-person non-fiction essay: Describe your own experience of low-wage work. Essays should be no more than five pages double spaced, Times New Roman 12-point type, one inch margins (1250 words).
Prize: $100 for best Undergraduate poem
$100 for best Graduate poemPoetry: Write a poem focused on some aspect of the experience of low-wage work. Submissions should be no more than three pages long.
Prize: $100 for best Undergraduate story
$100 for best Graduate story
Short story: Write a short story in which some aspect of low-wage work is a key element. Submissions should be no more than 10 pages long.
Please submit THREE copies of your entry. Put your name, current address, phone number, email address, and whether you are a graduate or undergraduate student in the upper right hand corner of each copy.
Please bring your submissions to the English Department Office, Robinson A 487.
