Thank you for visiting us in the Department of Geography at George Mason University. We are an academic research department with research and teaching strengths in Cartography and Geographic Information Science, Remote Sensing, Environmental Modeling, Transportation Geography, Urban Geography, and Economic Geography. We offer Bachelors, Masters, and PhD degrees as well as a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Sciences.

We strive to provide exceptional teaching to students at all levels and to prepare them for geographic careers in government, academia, and the private sector. We produce and disseminate research that seeks to augment the body of knowledge of the proud discipline of Geography - a discipline so universal that it has persisted for several millennia.
