VA from the Ground Up - June 21 through June 27, 2008
Come explore Southwestern Virginia on this exciting field-based class. Learn about the region’s rivers, caves, forests, and historic towns up close and personal. Discover how the mountains and valleys were created and how the landscape changed again and again starting with the first settlers almost 10,000 years ago. Decide whether we have done enough to protect the natural and historical environment or if we need to do more. This course is offered through the Center for Field Studies and is open to all George Mason University students. All non-Mason students need prior permission of the Instructor.
