GMU AgeNet in a Nutshell:
- Developed by faculty and students at George Mason University
(GMU) in partnership with the Learning
in Retirement Institute (LRI).
- Embraces the philosophy of inter-generational interdependence
and recognizes the importance of regular intergenerational exchanges.
- Employs a comprehensive approach to wellness and quality of
life issues in aging.
- Presents timely and interesting health promotion and disease
prevention education through the Web.
What you
can do with GMU AgeNet:
- Stay current on developments in
health and aging.
- Read regularly posted bulletins
and subjects relevant to you.
- Develop a partnership between GMU
students and seniors in the community (i.e., buddy program).
- Maintain communication with your
buddy via email and join discussions in WebCT.
