The B.S Health Fitness and Recreation Resources degree is offered through the Department of Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources, Graduate School of Education. The program prepares students for supervisory and managerial careers in private and public recreation, health education, park systems, and fitness and health promotion agencies.

For persons who become GMU students in Fall' 00 and major in BS HFRR, they must choose one of four possible concentrations. These four options within the major are also available to current GMU students and majors in the BS HFRR if they choose to change their concentration. Here are the checklists for each concentration:

Athletic Training (4-year plan)
Exercise Science
Health Promotion
Parks & Outdoor Recreation
Sports Management
Therapeutic Recreation
Tourism and Event Management (New TEM courses for Fall '02)

For current majors (and who become a GMU student before Fall '00), they must select one of two professional concentrations: Recreation Resources Management (19 hours) or Exercise Science/Health Promotion (18 hours).
