Initiatives in Educational Transformations

helping teachers change the world

A George Mason University Program

There is a contagious sense of optimism here...

Welcome to IET

Initiatives in Educational Transformation (IET) in the College of Education and Human Development seeks to transform our society one teacher, classroom, and school at a time. Founded in 1992 at George Mason University (Virginia, USA). IET was created to provide a rare opportunity for public school teachers to engage with what it means to be an effective learner and teacher. Since then, and in the best tradition of collaboration and activism, fifteen hundred teachers have engaged in a thought-filled exploration of what it means to teach and learn, and equally important, how to create conditions to ensure it happens.
