The mission, objectives, and evolving research programs of the Krasnow
Institute for Advanced Study are unique and challenging to its scientific
investigators and researchers. But that mission also presents a challenge
to those seeking to carry out Shelley Krasnow's vision of establishing
the Institute and assuring its growing capacity to continue to support
the research programs needed to fulfill the mission for which it was created.
To meet this challenge, the director has committed to a development program
designed to promote the Institute, and to organize and direct efforts
to seek and cultivate financial and related support.
Endowment
The Krasnow Institute is supported by the George Mason University Foundation,
an independent 501(c) (3) organization. The Krasnow Institute will continue
to benefit from gifts in addition to the initial endowment established
through Shelley Krasnow's generosity. Such gifts secure the long-term
financial well-being of the Institute and enhance research capabilities
and opportunities for continued growth. Gifts of any amount are welcome
and of great benefit.
Ways of Giving
The GMUF welcomes charitable contributions on behalf of the Krasnow
Institute in many different forms. A wide range of giving options offers
many choices which are tax deductible as provided by both Federal and
State tax laws. Funds and/or facilities may be named by agreement between
the donor and the University. Such gifts may bear the donor's name or
be named in honor of a family member or friend. Gifts in support of he
Krasnow Institute may be tailored to reflect the donor's interests and
tax situation. Memorial and living tribute opportunities also can be arranged.
