Studying Law and Economics in the United StatesLocated just two miles from downtown Washington, D.C., in the heart of the fast-growing high-tech business region of Northern Virginia, George Mason University School of Law (GMUSL) offers its students unparalleled opportunities and resources including outstanding legal instruction and guest lectures by top law and policy leaders. Through the School of Law's direct exchange program with the University of Hamburg's Erasmus Programme in Law & Economics, we invite foreign students to study law in the U.S. from the perspective of Economic Analysis. TARGET AUDIENCE:Erasmus Programme students who study law or economics or have solid background knowledge in these areas, and who are interested in the interdisciplinary study of Law and Economics. PROGRAMME OF STUDY:Students visiting GMUSL may choose from a variety of courses focusing on the economic analysis of law. These courses are also the backbone of GMUSL's LL.M. DURATION:The University's Fall semester runs from August through December, and the Spring semester from January through May. University of Hamburg Students may attend for one or two semesters. TEACHING LOCATION:The courses will take place at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. TEACHING LANGUAGE:English FEES:Foreign students visiting GMUSL will be required to pay their regular tuition fees to the University of Hamburg; and a $275 administrative fee to GMU. HOUSING:Students visiting GMUSL will be responsible for arranging their own accommodations for the time that they are here. GMUSL can provide information about the area and several resources for students to consult in conducting their housing search. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS:Students who want to attend GMUSL as part of the exchange must apply by April 1st for the Fall term and September 1st for the Spring term.
