General University Commencement |
School of Law Convocation
WHAT: |
The School of Law Convocation
is a special convocation ceremony for law graduates
only. This ceremony is not to be confused with
the GMU General Commencement ceremony that
is held the same day at 10:00 AM. Graduates
may attend both.
No tickets are required for the School of
Law Convocation, however each graduate is
allowed six (6) guests. |

Graduation applications due
to Law School Records Office. (Available in
records office for pick up February
2). |

If
you did not get measured for your cap and
gown when Herff-Jones was in the atrium on
Feb 1-2, you must go to the campus bookstore
to be measured. Your cap and gown order must
be placed no later than April 1, 2005 or
you will incur a late fee. |
May 2 |

have guests who will need special assistance.

Distribution of caps and
gowns at Arlington Bookstore . Note: On Saturday,
May 21 st after 10:00 a.m., all unclaimed caps
and gowns will be taken to the Concert Hall,
Fairfax Campus. Gowns can be picked up there
after 12 noon on May 21st. |

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS
Personalized graduation announcements can be ordered
online through Heriff-Jones at: www.heriff-jones.com/college/graduation.
Please select "George Mason University School
of Law" to proceed to order the documents.
Personalized announcements come in packs of twenty-five
cards and envelopes. They cost $49.98 without tax
or shipping.
GENERAL UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT
Patriot Center. Tickets required.
Note: Due to difficulties with
processing ticket orders for the General Commencement
ceremony through the 4GMU system, tickets will automatically
be made available to graduating students who wish
to attend. Each student will be allowed four tickets
which must be picked up in person at the Patriot
Center Box Office during the period of April 22-May
21.

MAY 21, 2:00 PM - SCHOOL
OF LAW CONVOCATION
12:15 PM |
Park on
deck next to Concert Hall. Law Graduates
arrive at Concert Hall. Robe in Theater area,
backstage. Tassels worn on right for ceremony,
left for conferral of degree. Graduates may
keep tassel. |
NOTE: |
Guests who need special
assistance should plan to arrive at the Concert
Hall by 1:15 p.m. See May 2 deadline. |
12:30 PM |
Graduates assemble for panoramic
class photograph, outside weather permitting.
If inclement weather, class photo will be done
in Concert Hall. Don't be late! |
1:00 PM |
Graduates form alphabetical
processional line. Promptness is essential! |
1:15 PM |
Doors open for guests. (Parking
on Parking Deck.) |
2:00 PM |
Procession begins. Graduates
follow collegial marshals. |
3:45 PM |
Ceremony ends, followed by
reception. Return caps & gowns to backstage
area. Graduates may keep their tassels. |
NOTE: The SBA will coordinate the
photography, music, color guard, and the purchase
of photographs of graduates receiving their diplomas.
Beverages, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, and smoking
are prohibited in the procession and in the Concert
Hall. Graduates who do not cooperate with this policy
will not be permitted to participate in the Convocation.
