The Fall 2005 Application for Admission—Juris Doctor Degree (for first-year and transfer applicants), which includes the Application for Virginia In-State Tuition Rates, is available as a PDF file.

Note: You need the Adobe Acrobat Reader software to view and print this material. You can use your computer to type on the application form. Simply open the file within Adobe Acrobat and type in the appropriate boxes. Once completed, print it out and send it in along with other required elements of the application.

Master of Laws (LLM)

Two LL.M. programs are now being offered through George Mason University School of Law. These are offered in the subject areas of Intellectual Property and Law & Economics. Information on the curriculum, admission requirements, application process and other vital details can be found on the respective Intellectual Property and Law & Economics pages.

Letter of Recommendation Form

The Letter of Recommendation Form (in PDF) is available for use by applicants who do not use the LSDAS Letter of Recommendation Service but who have chosen instead to have their recommendations submitted directly to the School of Law.

Visiting Students

A student in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school is eligible to apply to George Mason for admission as a visiting student. The student must obtain permission from his or her home law school to attend George Mason as a visiting student and confirmation that the credits earned will be accepted as transfer credits at the home law school.

Permission to be a visiting student is granted only on a semester basis. A student who visits during a fall or spring semester, or during a summer term, may submit a written request to renew his or her visiting status for an additional semester or for a summer term (subject, of course, to permission from the visitor's home law school). A student seeking to continue visiting status need not repeat the entire application process.

For the fall and spring semesters, visiting students must carry a full course load of 8-11 credits (for part-time study) or 12-15 credits (full-time study).

Fall 2005 Visiting Student Application and Information (PDF)
The deadline for completing applications for fall 2005 visiting status is July 15, 2005 .

In-State Tuition Application Form

If you live in Virginia, you may be eligible for instate tuition rates. If you are claiming entitlement to Virginia in-state tuition rates (pursuant to section 23-7.4, Code of Virginia), you must complete an in-state tuition application form. Note: this form is included in the primary Juris Doctor Degree application.

Honor Code Certification Form

All students who enroll at the law school are required to sign and submit a form to certify that you have read the provisions of the George Mason University School of Law Honor Code, and that you agree to be bound by its provisions. The honor code can be found on the page describing the Honor Code Pledge and Guidelines.

For new students, this form is sent from the admissions office. All other students can use the following form:
