The
Career Development and Alumni Services Office ("CDAS")
assists students and alumni in finding employment and facilitates
relations between the School of Law and its alumni. CDAS
serves as a clearinghouse for information on available positions
in the metropolitan Washington area, across the country,
and overseas. Additionally, CDAS provides numerous support
services to its students and alumni, including individual
counseling; resume, cover letter, and writing sample review;
seminars on career-related topics; on-campus interview and
job fair coordination; and the Career
Network, a network of alumni and friends of the School
of Law throughout the country who can provide job advice
and conduct mock interviews. All first-year students are
required to participate in a 20-30 minute counseling session
with one of our counselors.
CDAS also maintains employer files where students can
find hundreds of employer resumes, brochures and other information.
The CDAS Reference Library
consists of books, newspapers, and reference materials that
address job opportunities and various aspects of the job
search process.
Although the School of Law cannot guarantee employment
upon graduation, we make every effort to help our students
find suitable employment opportunities. CDAS is proud of
its employment success. Year
after year, many judges, law firms, government agencies
and other employers seek our students and graduates. We
are also proud of the number and diversity of entities
employing our recent graduates.
