Graduate and Certificate Programs in Biodefense

The Biodefense Graduate Program is a response to current needs as well as future needs of our country. It is affiliated with the George Mason University National Center for Biodefense . The main objective of the program is to train students for employment in the area of biodefense in academia, industry, and government. The program provides students with a background in the foundations of science and technology of biodefense, threat analysis of biological weapons, and the specialized areas of medical defense, including engineering defense, non-proliferation in biodefense, and counter-terrorism/law-enforcement of biodefense.

Classes adminstered by this program have the BIOD acronym. Admissions and degree requirements are listed in the individual program pages and the GMU catalog.
