SRIF

Equipment used by research in the Life Sciences is operated and maintained by the Shared Research Instrumentation Facility (SRIF). SRIF provides state-of-the-art, high-tech analytical instruments for conducting applied scientific research in the chemical and biochemical fields. SRIF's selection of computer-controlled equipment is of the same high caliber as those found in advanced commercial and governmental laboratories.

Equipment currently includes research instrumentation used in a diverse array of scientific disciplines including proteomics, genomics, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, virology and many more fields of study.

With the exception of specialized equipment used exclusively in externally funded research grants, the use of the equipment is open to students, faculty, and staff at GMU by arrangement with the SRIF lab manager .
