Research Opportunities
"This
[is a] new direction for the university's life sciences initiative
[which] will redefine how we are doing science. We will use
a research model that includes elements of clinical research,
biological investigation, and large-scale data analysis."
- Dr. Vikas Chandhoke, MMB interim chair and CAS associate
dean for research
The
Department of Molecular and Microbiology is closely associated
with the CAS Life Sciences initiative which coordinates research
through its many research centers and laboratories as well
as affiliations with corporate and government agencies. Research
is an important facet of a student's academic career. It prepares
them for their professional career by providing experience
in the field or laboratory. In the MMB, there are numerous
opportunities for hands-on experience in applied research
in several exciting disciplines. The links to the left provide
information on the activities available.
