B.M., University of Iowa; M.M., D.M.A., Catholic University of America. Founder of the National Trumpet Competition, in which he collaborated with artists such as the Canadian Brass, Grammy Award winner Arturo Sandoval, Doc Severinsen, Maynard Ferguson, Alan Vizzutti, Adolph Herseth, Tim Morrison, Jamey Aebersole and Philip Smith. He has performed many times with the United States Army Band and the Army Brass Quintet. In 1996, Dr. Edelbrock was the recipient of the prestigious "Excellence in Teaching Award." Has written music that has been nationally performed, and has been a performer for organizations such as National Public Radio, the British Broadcasting Corporation, NBC’s “Today Show” and Fox television, and the Prairie Home Companion, among others. In recent years, Dr. Edelbrock has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Bolshoi and Kirov ballets, the New York City Ballet, the Royal Spanish Ballet, the Kennedy Center Orchestra with whom he performed the world’s first web-cast as soloist in Handel’s “Messiah”, the Washington Opera, and the National Symphony Orchestra with whom he has recorded.
