Edwin C. Thayer, Horn
Status: PMI professor
Teaching Positions: Private Music Instruction in Horn

B.M., M.M., University of Illinois. Principal Emeritus Hornist, National Symphony Orchestra. Former principal hornist of the National Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Thayer is a native of Weymouth, Massachusetts. While attending the University of Illinois, he attended the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts for two years, and served in the U.S. Army Band at Fort Myer from 1958 to 1961. Prior to joining the National Symphony in 1972, Ted was the Principal horn in the Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia Symphonies and was an Associate Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University.
