Writing Internships at VoxPop

Write for VoxPop, an award-winning features magazine, and see what happens when good writing matters.

VoxPop's interns write full-throttle. They write and rewrite and are given the freedom and the credibility to shake our readers to the bones. Writers collaborate with editorial staff to hone story ideas; they do interviews; they master the mechanics of a good story and their own authorial voices.

The intern works 10 hours weekly and receives three credit hours through New Century College. The position is unpaid. The intern will receive a listing on the magazine’s masthead, ten copies of the magazine to distribute to future employers or graduate schools, a copy of the position description, and a reference.

Send a resume and a writing sample of 500 to 750 words to stumedia@gmu.edu by Friday, December 14. The writing sample should consist of any essay written for any class. Choose the piece you feel represents you best. Call Reba Elliott at 703.993.3560 with questions.
