Wolf Trap's Internship Opportunites

Wolf Trap's Internship Program draws college students from across the country, providing project-based training and experience in the areas of arts management, graphic design, media relations, special events, technical theater, and more to approximately 40 interns annually. Interns are offered the opportunity to become an integral member of the staff working side-by-side with professionals producing, promoting, and administering all aspects of the performing arts.

Fall Internships are offered in the following departments:


Special Events:

The Special Events Department supports the Foundation through coordination of major fundraising events (including the annual Gala, Ball, and Golf Tournament) and organizes a variety of events for current and potential donors.
The Special Events intern will assist in the daily planning and logistics of Wolf Trap's events, assist members with concerns or requests, write articles for the Associates' newsletters, and complete special projects as assigned.

Education:
The Education Department administers the internationally renowned Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts and offers internships for college/graduate students, a Master Class series with performing artists, Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, and more.
The Education intern will assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing education programs including teaching artists' classroom residencies, the Internship Program, Scholarship Program, classes at the Center for Education, and Master Class series.

Development:

As a nonprofit organization, Wolf Trap relies on private philanthropy for support. The Development Department administers all of the Foundation's fundraising efforts, including solicitation and stewardship of contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government sources.
The Development intern will help to prepare for cultivation and stewardship events, assist with donor stewardship mailings and database management, assist with donor recognition, prepare grant proposals, respond to donor questions, and work on special projects and financial analyses.

Multimedia (Communications and Marketing):
The Communications and Marketing Department is responsible for publicizing and marketing all of Wolf Trap's programs and for ensuring a strong and consistent corporate image throughout all materials and promotional pieces relating to Wolf Trap.
The Multimedia intern will assist the Marketing Department in utilizing the latest multimedia technology—including podcasts, Internet radio, video, RSS feeds, distance-learning opportunities, Flash and PowerPoint, interactive Web features, and more—to help promote Wolf Trap's arts and education programs to a broader audience.
More Information

Fall internships are part time (maximum of 24 hours per week) and 12 weeks in duration. Housing is the responsibility of the student, although guidance in this matter is available. Wolf Trap Interns are required to have a reliable mode of transportation as the Wolf Trap Foundation is not accessible by public transit.
