Technical Writing Internship
Emagine IT seeks a technical writing intern for immediate start.
Summary
- Write, edit, index, or revise a variety of Information Technology related technical, user documentation such as test plans, architecturedocumentation and/or manuals.
- Collaborate with network administrators, engineers and/or project management to gain anunderstanding of the product.
- Analyze requirements of project to determine types of publications needed. Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documentation.
- Requires excellent oral andwritten communication skills and an understanding of programmingconcepts, software development methodologies, standards andprocedures, operating systems and/or networking.
Work Outline
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for test network environment and provide documentation to be used by client forproduction replication.
- Create, edit, and maintain procedural documentation including but not limited to department policies and procedures (SOP's) and/or user guides and application guides.
- Write, edit, produce, and maintain on-line (internet/web-based) documentation.
- Support quality assurance efforts, assemble documentation for audits and ensure that documentation is compliant with federal regulations.
- Research and evaluate new documentation tools and methods; document and improve documentation processes.
- Develop documentation project plans and timelines.
- Collaborate with engineers to collect and interpret input from IT or other personnel.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Place of Performance
Washington, DC with the ability to telecommute as required.
